Important Dual Primaries Voting Information

All voters must declare which primary - Democratic or Republican - they wish to vote in. The voter must state their choice of primary to the Poll Book Officers out loud. They voter may not vote in both primaries held on the same date, even if the desire is to vote for candidates running for different offices (Code of Virginia § 24.2-530). The choice to vote in a party's primary does not mean that the voter will be "registered" with that party.
