Voting News
January 12: Republican Presidential Primary Information
The primary is Tuesday, March 6, 2012. Polls open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Last day to register is Monday, February 13. Last day to apply for absentee ballot by mail is Tuesday, February 28, 2012. Last day to vote absentee in person is Saturday, March 3, 2012.
Note: Schools are used as polling places. Schools are in session on Tuesday, March 6 and buses will be dropping students off and picking students up from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Parking lots will have students, teachers, staff, and parent cars in attendance all day.

Monday and Tuesday, January 23 and 24, 8 - 2:30 at Millbrook High School
Monday and Tuesday, January 30 and 31, 8 - 2:30 at Sherando High School
December 22: Officers of Election Needed for 2012 Elections
Any registered voter may become an Officer of Election. This is a paid volunteer position. Officers chosen to work each election will receive $150.00 for attending the mandatory training session and working the entire election day.

The Electoral Board is composed of three appointed members who are responsible for conducting elections in the County, including appointing and training poll workers, choosing polling places, printing ballots, administration of absentee ballots, maintaining financial reports of candidates, ascertaining the results of elections, and organizing election procedures.

The Frederick County Voter Registrar and Assistant Registrars are entrusted to providing qualified citizens living in Frederick County the opportunity to register to vote in a courteous, professional, and non-partisan manner. We are dedicated to helping each citizen exercise his or her right to vote in an efficient and equitable fashion in accordance with election laws and the Constitution of the United States and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Your physical address determines your precinct. DMV transactions do not assure that you are registered to vote.
Please check with us in order to assure that we have your current address. This prevents you from going to the wrong precinct on Election Day.
