"The Vision of Frederick County, Virginia, Information Technologies is to provide a secure and fully operational county-wide electronic information system — that supports every county employee or citizen that needs and uses county digital data; that improves organization operations and efficiency; that exceeds the high accuracy and standards required by today's State and Federal guidelines; that stays current with state and national trends in electronic technology and data management; that encourages participating users to excel in seeking out new standardized technologies; and to build expertise and teamwork to improve data storage and distribution required in decision making within the County of Frederick."

• Complete Virtualization/ Site Recovery project by migrating the remaining critical servers into the "high-availability" environment.
• Reorganize the current technician/network technician service structure into a helpdesk service model.
• Procure the services of a broadband consultant to make recommendations as to next steps in improving broadband connectivity in Frederick County.
• Present the County Administration and Board of Supervisors with a solid plan and financial strategy for implementing a VoIP phone system.
• Increase visibility of Frederick County IT service department within the local state and regional IT service community.
• IT Director personal: begin certification track for GCIO certification.

The Information Technologies and Management Information Systems staff of nine provides technical guidance, expertise, and support in the management of the County's computer and telecommunications technology. The Information Technologies staff also includes Geographic Information Systems (GIS) staff who support County departments and citizens in mapping, road-naming, and related activities.
