Requesting A Structure Number Assignment

In order to have an address or road name/structure number assigned to a new building, for E-911 or postal use, please do the following:

1.Check the Structure Numbering Principles and Guidelines Section to make sure that your structure qualifies for numbering.

2.Contact the GIS Division or stop by the office and request a number assignment:

3.Have the following information--
--building owners full name.
--a current mailing address for future written notification.
--building occupants full name.
--P.I.N. Parcel Identification Number (a 14-digit code on your tax bill)
(Also know as Tax Identification Number)
--a plat of the property showing structure location and driveway location. This may be drawn by hand as long as distances are noted in the drawing.

If all the necessary information is presented for number assignment, GIS Staff will process the request while you wait. Or you can drop off the information and staff will notify you by phone or mail of the new address.

After GIS technicians have assigned the number, the secretrial staff will type and mail an officail notification form to the current mailing address indicated by the requesting agent.
