Frederick County Fire & Rescue Department
Explorer Post 154

December 1, 2011 - 7pm: Learn How to Become an Explorer at Our Next First Nighter.

The Frederick County Fire and Rescue Department partnered with the Shenandoah Area Council Boy Scouts of America in order to create the Fire and Rescue Explorer Post, formed in 2008, for young men and women ages FOURTEEN to TWENTY.

Of course, our advisors have to take into account that hazards exist which are specific to fire and emergency services. Explorers will not be allowed to respond to any emergency scene as they cannot be substituted for trained personnel. Explorers will not be allowed to drive apparatus. Explorers will not be allowed to enter a burning structure and they will not be allowed to operate hydraulic rescue tools.
