The Landfill:

What recycling programs are offered by the County?
Frederick County offers recycling programs for paper; cans; plastic bottles, jugs, and bags; glass; electronics; shoes; textiles; and more. We also have reuse and community outreach programs. Visit the Recycling Programs page for more information.
What types of waste collection are offered by the County?
At the Landfill, Frederick County offers services for standard household trash, some hazardous wastes (such as insecticides, pesticides, pool chemicals, antifreeze, transmission fluid, car batteries, fluorescent and compact light tubes, paints, thinners, solvents), tires, motor oil, yard waste, and more. Large appliances are not accepted at the Landfill.

How do I contact animal control?

Where can I adopt a pet?

Are dogs required to have tags? Where do I get dog tags?

Where can I find interactive mapping services?
Frederick County's GIS department maintains an interactive mapping site offering address searches, general mapping services, Planning maps, environmental maps, school maps, and more.

When are tax bills mailed?
Tax bills are due on June 5th and December 5th. The bills are mailed around Apple Blossom and Halloween, generally 30 days before they are due.
Where can I find tax maps and other County maps?
Maps of Frederick County are produced by the GIS division of the IT department and the Planning department. Each department creates and maintains a unique set of maps availabile in their map galleries. Custom mapping products are available by request from the GIS division.
